New fescue sod

We added new sod to the bunker face at #15.  This complex is built on a sand dune, so prior to the new sod installation we cored out 6 inches of existing sand and added topsoil.  This process will give the new turf a better chance to succeed in an exposed area.

First mow of the season

We are knocking the tips off today with our first mow of the season.

#15 Sandy Waste Area

We continue to make progress on #15 Sandy Waste Area.  The cart path portion is complete.

We should have the rest of the sand in today.

Just like the other sand cart paths we've converted, it will take weather events and time for the sand to settle completely.  We appreciate your patience!

Getting ready...

Even though we probably won't mow any fairways for at least another month.... today we are sharpening reels and building bearings in preparation for the spring season.

Here's our Equipment Technician Wesley McClung and his tech Cary Shaw breaking down a reel.

Back bunker #10

The sod was laid today on the filled in bunker behind #10 green.

Waking up....

Getting the greens ready for Spring!!

Trimming the Holly hedges

Over the next couple weeks we will be trimming the Holly hedges around the course. This will include the Holly's around #14 bathroom to increase site lines to #15 green.

Mondo grass

We gave the Mondo grass around the front of the Club a spring trim.

Concrete pots

Look for these pots around the Princess Anne campus.

Fresh mulch

Getting ready for the golf season!

Inside work

During the winter we have multiple opportunities to clean up and organize the shop.

Spring clean up

Spring is always a great time to clean everything after a long winter.

Fescue areas

We cut down all fescue areas on the course as part of our spring clean up.  They are also receiving a shot of weed control and fertilizer during this process.

Spring has sprung!

Thank you to Miss Emily Rothrock and our Horticulture team for finding ways to introduce spring color around the Clubhouse.  These crocuses will bloom now and fade away once the turf starts to green up.

Bunker elimination

Per the direction of the Greens Committee, we are filling in the bunker behind #10 green.  The bunker was plagued by poor drainage and saw limited play.
