Sand in the bunkers

We are still waiting on sand to finish the bunker projects. Unfortunately the snow in Maryland has caused a delay getting sand to the beach!  We appreciate your patience through this process.

Spring Green up?????

It seems spring is actually going to happen this year.  The big body of water to the east of us still has to warm up, but we are starting to see signs of spring!

New fescue areas

We are fertilizing and spraying weeds in the fescue areas around the bunkers.

Drainage #1

We're in the process of adding subsurface drainage to the first fairway.  We hope to finish this project tomorrow.

Spraying the bunkers

Today we are applying the polymer to bunkers at #15, #17, #18 and two bunkers at the practice green.

Bermuda test plugs

We took a few test plugs from a couple fairways on the course.  We keep them warm and in the sun to simulate the warm temperatures of spring. This will hopefully tell us how we will come out of the recent cold and wet winter. We are just starting to see signs of green. This is a good sign!!

Long Leaf Pine Restoration Program

In conjunction with the City of Virginia Beach we have embarked on a Long Leaf Pine Restoration Program. The Long Leaf pine is indigenous to the Tidewater area and due to logging has been almost eliminated. We will be installing 30 juvenile pines over the next couple weeks. Take a look at the following plantings in the new Sandy Waste Areas. More to come...

#6 Sandy Waste Area

The new sandy waste area on #6 was completed last week. Take a look at the before and after pictures.
