New sod

We are scrambling this morning getting the sod down before all the rain. Here are a few pictures that depict our work.

Sod

In preparation of the summer season and future tournaments, we are prepping for and adding sod to select areas of the golf course. Please be patient as we improve your facility!

Aerification

Over the last couple days we aerified the greens with the medium sized tines. The process involves pulling the plugs, cleaning off the greens, applying nutrients, applying sand, dragging in the sand, rolling and eventually mowing the greens.

The process is a necessary evil to insure the future quality of the putting surfaces. The process eliminates thatch, provides an avenue for the plants to receive oxygen and relieves compaction. We appreciate your patience through this process!

Greens application

Some of you may see a slight white tint to the greens over the next day or so. We applied calcium and potassium to the greens on Monday and what you are seeing is the clay carrier of the applied nutrients. This will wear off over the next day or so with mowing and irrigation.

#10 Bunker

We are stripping the sand out of the first fairway bunker on #10 to raise the floor and allow easier advancement of the ball. Thank you for your patience!

#14 tee

If you see the disturbed earth behind #13 green, it's the new tee we are adding per Tim Liddy's last visit. The tee will add yardage to the golf hole and will only be used during special occasions. Thank you for your patience during the project!

Venting Greens

Today we are venting greens on the course. The process is in response to increase mowing and rolling from a tournament. We do this to increase oxygen to plant roots, plus we are adding nutrients to the greens and it allows the application greater ease when penetrating the canopy. You will see the tiny holes for a few days but it will not affect ball roll!
