Sandy Waste Areas
In an effort to make the sandy waste areas more player friendly we cut down and sprayed all the existing lovegrass plants. We are looking into smaller plants that will create a better playing area and the aesthetic appearance we hope to attain.

Goose grass
We've seen increased populations of goose grass this year, especially around a couple of the putting surfaces. In the interim, we have spot treated select areas with post emergent herbicides. Our post emergent practices have to be precise due to inward slopes to the putting surfaces as the chemistries could harm the Bentgrass. We have already looked at our spring pre-emergent strategies and will amend our program next year.
15 surround/16 tee
I continue to get questions regarding the declined turf around #15 green and #16 tee complex. The area was built on a sand dune which has limited moisture and nutrient holding capacity, confirmed by our soil consultant. In conjunction with a subpar soil foundation the complex receives limited sunlight through out the year due to the peripheral trees and wasn't able to sustain the cold winter weather.
